cmBuilder - Construction Planning and Simulation Software on the cmCore platform. cmBuilder is a 100% browser based application that use a BIM model, its geo-location, and a company resource catalog to plan, simulate, cost and instruct construction projects. cmBuilder allows the user to layout the site, order and define a sequence, and create a 4D simulation of the BIM model incorporating cost, time, and motion by creating Construction Scenarios. Each Scenario takes model and resources such as cranes and equipment for site work, trucks and trailers for logistics, human resources, lay down areas and working zones from a customizable resource catalog as input. The resources are positioned and adjusted in the 3D view with cost being automatically calculated based on the RS means costs database. In addition to the cost, crane swing volumes for reachability analysis, and other useful information such as safety annotations, crane load capacities, emergency routes is also incorporated. In the resource schedule viewer, the user can define estimated duration for each of the resources and the dependencies between tasks. This is currently organized using Masterformat but the user will be able to shift it to other standards like Uniclass or custom ones. The generation of the simulated Gantt chart and construction plan is created by customized installation workflows for each part/assembly type found in the BIM model. In addition, custom assignment exists to accommodate projects of all scale and complexity. After the types are define the planner can define the installation sequence by group at a given floor or for each part individually. Resource allocation and productivity dashboards will also display the efficiency of the workplan and aid to identify bottlenecks in the planning process.
